Those of you who’ve read We Are Water may be interested in some recent news from my hometown (Norwich CT.) In my novel, the character of the outsider artist Josephus Jones was loosely based on Norwich artist Ellis Ruley, whose death (and the earlier death of his son-in-law) were declared accidental at the time but may have been homicides, perhaps racially motivated.
